A proud B-Corp we focus on using business as a force for good, balancing people and planet with profit. We are looking for an Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Operations team. You will be happy working in a fast-paced environment and you will be comfortable with changes: no two days are the same here.

What we are looking for

Your role will be to provide engineering planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support on the plant and machinery that we have at our packhouse in Redditch. Your engineering expertise is key to our production process to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained on our production lines.

You'll be working on: fault finding, regular maintenance, Siemens PLC on pick-by-light systems, bag opening and sealing machines, Lantech case erectors and sealers, palletisers and labelling machines. You'll have the opportunity to create and develop a team of technical operators, and  upskill them through appropriate training and leadership.

You are
  • ONC/HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or PLC Engineering.

  • A recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate engineering discipline or through cross training

  • PLC knowledge and experience is advantageous.

  • Health and Safety Qualifications desirable.

  • Experienced with automated materials handling equipment.

  • Able to work at height.

  • Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills desirable.

You will
  • Maintain safety standards on all machines

  • PPM weekly maintenance

  • Ensure process equipment operates efficiently, to maximise uptime & minimise downtime

  • Maintain close attendance of the production line, in order to provide engineering solutions, and assist in an operational capacity when required

  • Ensure that any rectification is followed through to a satisfactory conclusion by effective communication with other members of the Production and Operations team

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and build a routine for this

  • Ensure that any specific permits required to carry out any work are obtained before proceeding to work

  • Participate in contributing ideas and completing all tasks to improve the plant and equipment performance, reliability and efficiency

  • Deliver improvement projects

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct specifications and procure components

  • Mentor and develop our Technical Operators
