We're looking for a design-focused engineer to craft exceptional, user-centric interfaces using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. This is an interface first role working in our Ruby on Rails codebase, where your primary responsibility will be building clean, responsive and accessible interfaces and experiences that empower our customers and our internal teams.
Collaborating closely with our product team and pairing with a Rails engineer, you’ll bring designs, features and products to life following our 6-week cycle Shape Up process.
You're experienced with the modern web, and you're able to write HTML, CSS, and Javascript
You may lack direct experience with Rails, but you're comfortable working alongside it to apply your designs to implemented code with oversight and feedback
You're comfortable with using design software tools like Figma to accomplish simple tasks
You have good visual taste and design sensibilities, but may sometimes require support from a senior designer
You care about creating accessible, intuitive, and visually appealing interfaces and have a high attention to these details
You are able to run and own small-batch projects (2-weeks) from concept to delivery alongside a backend engineer.
Work on our customer facing website and our internal backoffice web apps to enable our kitchen and operation teams to serve our customers high quality and healthy meals
Identify and implement improvements to user experience, accessibility, performance and code quality across our interfaces
Work on projects within 6-week cycles to design and build new features, and improve existing functionality
Document and build out our internal design system, components, and base stylesheets as changes are made
Communicate what you’re working on in team calls, and async updates
